Lobuloplasty (Earlobe Repair)
Since the late ’90s, earlobe expanders and earplugs, which increase the size of the earlobe, has grown in popularity. However, as these patients became older, many of them wished to remove them and end up with distorted earlobes. As well, even regular earrings can result in enlarged holes or even completely torn earlobes due to the weight of the earrings. Until now, there are very few earlobe repair options. However, with minor, low-risk surgery, earlobes can be repaired and reformed.
At the Clinique Dr. Adi Yoskovitch, Dr. Yoskovitch uses his expertise as a board-certified ear, nose, and throat physician, combined with his facial plastic surgery training to help people who would like to close or repair their earlobes.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Lobuloplasty is a minor and safe surgery with minimal risk that allows you to achieve aesthetic results quickly. Beforehand, the ear area will be anaesthetized which will take a few minutes, and afterward, the surgery lasts a little less than an hour.
WHAT’S INVOLVED?
With this minor surgery, there is no need to take time off work after the treatment. It is possible to return to work the next day. The stitches will be slightly visible, but you’ll be able to carry out your activities as usual. The scar is usually very minimal as the earlobes skins heals quickly. It will even be possible to have a piercing again. It is recommended to wait at least 4 months for the skin to heal completely.
As a cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Yoskovitch has refined his expertise to provide a safe service and with the best possible aesthetic result. Besides, following the care instructions given before the surgery, it will help the smooth running throughout the treatment and recovery.
